Use this basic strategy chart to make the best decision based on your hand total versus the dealer's face-up card.
| Your Hand Total | Dealer Card 2–6 | Dealer Card 7–A |
|---|---|---|
| 8 and below | Hit | Hit |
| 9 | Double / Hit | Hit |
| 10 – 11 | Double Down | Hit / Double |
| 12 – 16 | Stand | Hit |
| 17 and above | Stand | Stand |
| Pair of Aces | Always Split | Always Split |
| Pair of 8s | Always Split | Always Split |
| Pair of 10/J/Q/K | Always Stand | Always Stand |
This basic strategy reduces the house edge to below 0.5% – one of the best odds across all casino games.

Winning at Blackjack isn't purely down to luck. There are some core principles that can help you play smarter and reduce your losses, especially when playing at Spade99.
First: Always rely on basic strategy. Never make decisions based on gut feeling alone. A basic strategy chart is mathematically proven to give players the best possible edge.
Second: Set a budget limit before you play. Decide how much you're willing to risk in a single session and stick to it. Spade99 also offers a self-imposed betting limit feature within your account.
Third: Take advantage of Double Down and Split when the situation calls for it. Many players hesitate to Double Down on 10 or 11, but over the long run it is a profitable move.
Fourth: Avoid the insurance bet unless you're an experienced card counter. For most casual players, Insurance is an unfavorable wager over the long run.
Fifth: Play with a clear head. Don't chase your losses. If you're feeling tired or stressed, take a break. Spade99 lets you stop and resume at any time.
At Spade99, you have two main options: play digital Blackjack (RNG) or go live with a real dealer. Both have their own advantages.
Digital Blackjack (RNG) is the best option if you prefer a more relaxed pace, want to use demo mode, or practise strategies without any time pressure. Rounds move faster and you can stop at any time without affecting other players.
Live Blackjack delivers a more authentic and thrilling casino experience. You interact directly with professional dealers via high-quality video streaming, and there's a social element too – you can see other players at the same table and observe their strategies.
Many Spade99 players start with Digital Blackjack to learn the ropes, then move on to Live Blackjack once they feel confident. It's a smart approach and one we encourage. Most importantly, enjoy the game and always play within your means. 18+
